THE TOTTON LEARNING MARKET By
Ruth Edwards T.A.S.
President When Anne asked me to do a write-up for the newsletter about the Learning Market event on May 15th—the Council invited T.A.S. to take part—my first thought was “Where do I begin?” That Saturday morning turned out to be a beautifully warm and sunny one; an ideal starting point, especially as the event was being held outside (much more fun, than had it been indoors). When Anne asked me to do a write-up for the newsletter about the Learning Market event on May 15th—the Council invited T.A.S. to take part—my first thought was “Where do I begin?” That Saturday morning turned out to be a beautifully warm and sunny one; an ideal starting point, especially as the event was being held outside (much more fun, than had it been indoors). Anne, Mary and Helen positioned our table on the grass opposite the Three Score Club, so that it could be seen from the library car park and Community Centre. They did an excellent job of displaying all the T.A.S. activities with leaflets, information on meetings, books, a few paintings and other bits and bobs promoting our society. I especially liked Mary’s paintbox on display which looked much-loved and well-used, with its various bits of paint mixed up after having finished a painting (or ready to start one). It looked very inviting and gave a finishing touch to the whole display. There was a great deal of interest shown, with enquiries from many people wanting to know when our exhibition was—so get your brushes working for the next one! |

A
big thank you to Anne, Mary and Helen for all their work in setting everything
up, representing the Society and giving up their time on a Saturday morning.
Me? Well I had the easy bit—helping to drink up all the free teas and coffees (yes all free!) listening to and watching all the entertainment put on by the schools, clubs, etc.—oh and snapping away with a camera for the T.A.S. portfolio—a very enjoyable Saturday morning!
